Nigerian activist and former senator, Shehu sani has been described as a comedian and idle blogger wanting to become the next governor of Kaduna state.
Naija News The Kaduna All Progressive Congress, APC, in a statement released Monday said the state is too big for the former lawmaker to handle.
Recall that Sani declared on Sunday his interest in challenging the state’s number one political position.
People’s Democratic Party member PDP said he is joining the race for governor in others to clean up mess of outgoing Malam administration Nasir El-Rufai.
Reacting, however, in a statement through his publicity secretary, Salisu Tanko WusonoAPC’s Kaduna State Chapter said it was sad that all kinds of characters dreamed of succeeding the governor.
The ruling party has said it has set a standard for governance in the state and will not allow Sani or any “unfit” politician to roll back the state.
Scolding residents of the state ahead of the 2023 general election, APC said: We salute the people of the State and wish them a peaceful and prosperous year 2022. In 2015 and again in 2019, the APC gladly accepted the electoral mandate freely given by the people of Kaduna State and we are grateful to them.
The party said the current government has been implementing visible statewide projects since 2015, when it took power.
The ruling party further boasts in the statement that it has established itself as the party that has made a positive difference, putting people first and changing Kaduna state for the better.
The statement continued: “The APC has observed that as the next general election approaches, all manner of figures attempt to disrespect the people of Kaduna state by treating the competition for the state’s next governor as s’ it was a great comedy. Our party knows that the people of Kaduna State have enjoyed consistent good governance since 2015 and they will not allow non-entities to ruin it for them. “
The APC has changed the democratic game in Kaduna State, making politics and governance an arena for seriousness and achievement.
2023 will further confirm that Kaduna State is not an arena for those who have never led anything, who have no understanding of development or no appreciation of governance as serious business.
Our party is proud that the government of Malam Nasir El-Rufai has amply justified the confidence that the people have shown twice in it and in the APC at the polls.
The government of Malam Nasir El-Rufai faithfully implemented the APC manifesto. And in doing so, Kaduna State has changed for the better, in a way that has never been done before.
The urban renewal program has changed the face of the city of Kaduna and is changing Kafanchan and Zaria. These infrastructure investments didn’t just start with the launch of the urban renewal program in June 2019.
“It is this government of the PCA Nasir El-Rufai which completed on May 27, 2017 the Zaria water project which had been abandoned by two governors of the PDP after the governor Namadi Sambo who initiated him before being appointed vice-president of Nigeria.
Phases 1 and II of the Zaria water project have since been completed. With phase III, the project is extended to provide water to neighboring local communities, in addition to the LGAs of Zaria and Sabon-Gari which were the first beneficiaries.
Governor El-Rufai’s sense of purpose, clear vision and determination to solve problems enabled him to deliver Zaria Water within two years of taking office. He cleared up the mess of incompetence and indifference that the PDP had shown towards this priority project.
According to the statement, Governor El-Rufai instilled a sense of hard work, a commitment to results, the daring to meet challenges and transparency.
Led by Malam El-Rufai, the Kaduna State APC government has attracted $ 2.8 billion in investment to the state. In less than a year in power, El-Rufai enabled Olam to launch the largest hatchery project in sub-Saharan Africa in April 2016 and the project was commissioned in September 2017 by President Muhammadu Buhari.
“Gujeni steel plant and iron ore mining complex, Kagarko LGA, Tomato Jos farm and tomato processing plant in Kangimi, OCP fertilizer plant and Dangote vehicle assembly plant -Peugeot are a testament to the hard work that has earned the recognition of Kaduna State. as the number one state for doing business in Nigeria. These are projects that create jobs and business opportunities for the people of the state.
Sculminating in education, the APC government said it had improved the quality of teachers deployed to various schools in the state and also strengthened the school infrastructure.
He pointed out that Governor El-Rufai gave substance to the idea that the children of the poor also deserve a decent education.
Where the PDP has contented itself with letting more than 20,000 students from a primary school in Rigasa study in tents, the APC government has built new schools and more classrooms for them. Where 16 years of PDP neglect left most schools without desks, chairs, water supplies and toilets, the APC has invested resources to reverse this trend. Where the PDP has infected the ranks of teachers with many unqualified people, the CPA under El-Rufai ensures that only qualified people can teach.
“El-Rufai launched the renovation of 255 primary health care centers, equipping them with tools to facilitate safer childbirth and reduce infant and maternal mortality. Kaduna State has also launched a contributory health insurance scheme to reduce personal expenses when accessing health care.
Further listing the achievements of the El-Rufai government, the statement notes that the governor has modernized general hospitals and obtained accreditation from Barau Dikko University Hospital as a tertiary hospital for the training of doctors.
The addition of this capacity in the health sector has been expanded with more staff and better equipment.
Many innovations have enabled the APC to record these successes in the governance of Kaduna State. Internally generated revenue by the state has quadrupled in five years, from 13 billion naira in 2015 to 52 billion naira in 2020. This was achieved without raising taxes. El-Rufai’s APC government paid civil servants up to 100% of their salary as a December bonus. Kaduna State was the first to pay the new minimum wage, as of September 2019. This government also increased the minimum pension to N 30,000 per month for retirees of the old defined benefit scheme. As PENCOM records show, Kaduna State is one of the few states to faithfully apply the contributory pension scheme. This government has paid more than 14 billion naira in arrears of pensions and gratuities that the PDP has not paid since 2010.
Denigrating the opposition, the APC said that Governor El-Rufai’s administration has brought innovation and progress to Kaduna state, while continuing to clean up the mess left by the PDP in all sectors.
APC said, Governance is serious business, aimed at those with a track record of serious effort, clear vision, values and policies. It’s not for idle bloggers who think that decades of getting rid of people’s woes qualifies them for leadership. Nor are they those individuals whose backgrounds as public servants do not indicate that they are capable of serious responsibility.
It’s not for the people who for two years stood helpless when fate gave them power, instead focusing on their vain looks and big headlines. This character cast is clear proof that the PDP is clearly linked to the sad past, but the people of Kaduna State have moved on.
The APC accused the PDP of being too quick to condemn the government in power, adding that it often tries to introduce politics into everything.
The ruling party boasts that just like in 2015 and 2019, the people of Kaduna state will once again reject a party that for 16 years has been unable to do much to inspire progress and development. or ensure good governance.
“Our people have seen beyond those who think their own bread is buttered through the promotion of addiction rather than a serious effort to alleviate poverty, empower people and increase equality of opportunity., he stressed.
