Cardi B Says She Was Suicidal Over Blogger’s Comments During Court Testimony

“I had suicidal thoughts every day, to the point that I felt like a burden on my family,” Cardi said.

Cardi B defamation case against YouTuber Latacha Kebe is underway in Atlanta. The rapper gave a tearful testimony on Thursday about how she felt suicidal because of the blogger’s content.

Kebe, known as Tasha K online, runs a successful YouTube channel with over 500,000 subscribers. Cardi sued the Georgia-based vlogger and his company Kebe Studios LLC in 2019 for defamation after posting a video with another blogger, Starmarie Ebony Jonesin which they called the hip-hop star a “prostitute”, claiming she had herpes.

They even talked about Cardi B’s daughter Culture and Jones accused the former stripper of doing cocaine and molly, leGrio reported.

The Bronx-born rapper, born Belcalis Almanzartestified in federal court in Atlanta this week that she became suicidal in late 2018 following false statements posted online, TMZ reports.

“I had suicidal thoughts every day, to the point that I felt like a burden on my family,” Cardi B said. “My mom and husband noticed I wasn’t happy. . Every time I woke up, I had anxiety.

The Grammy-winning artist also recalled Kebe’s public assertion that Cardi was raped by her father as a teenager. “I felt really helpless and hopeless,” she said. “It was just constant harassment.”

Kebe filed a countersuit in 2019 against Cardi B in federal court, claiming she lied about him on social media, prompting Cardi’s followers to send her threatening messages, leGrio previously reported.

The “Be Careful” rapper reportedly reached out to the blogger privately and demanded that the derogatory video she made with Jones be removed from social media. When that didn’t happen, “Cardi B began to publicly defame Ms. Kebe, calling her ‘that blogger’, stating that Ms. Kebe is making up fake stories; harassing all of Cardi B’s friends; constantly stalking Cardi B ; falsely claims she has legitimate sources giving her information about Cardi B; uses Cardi B’s name for ‘click bait’; and numerous other false accusations,” Tasha K’s countersuit alleged.

Tasha K said that once her character was attacked, she started receiving “gang-related threats” and feared for her safety so much that she had to move her location permanently. She reportedly sought $3 million in damages before a judge dismissed her lawsuit last July.

As Cardi’s lawsuit against Kebe progresses, the former reality TV star testified this week that she had lost significant weight and suffered from headaches and migraines following Kebe’s allegations published on the social media platforms.

“I couldn’t even think straight,” Cardi said in court Thursday. “I felt like I didn’t deserve my child because I felt so sad and depressed, and I have the greatest gift from God.”

Cardi B described Kebe as “demonic” and noted that “only an evil person could do this shit, sorry for my language.”
