Google Product Reviews Update Complete, SEO Best Practices for Bloggers, Mobile-First Indexing Alive, SEO Rants and Much More

Amazingly, Google finished rolling out the Google Product Reviews Update on August 2 and didn’t even tell us about it on social media. We are seeing some volatility and fluctuation in Google Search that may be due to the Google Product Reviews update from last Friday and the tools noticed this on Wednesday, but that was after it rolled out. Google added new links to content guidelines, one of these guidelines was for SEO best practices for bloggers, which were later removed. Google continues to move sites to mobile-first indexing, over 5.5 years later. Google Search Console has temporarily suspended the patch validation function during certain classification changes. Google’s John Mueller had a nice SEO rant, which some might not like. Google has changed the way it displays search result snippets with quoted text. Google is testing “prospects” in search results. Google tests site names and favicons for image results in web searches. Google also charges new people ask in the footer. Google is also showing the 3D view again for some products. Google Business Profiles is testing an expandable menu to edit your listing. Google added Asian-owned attributes for Google Business Profiles. Discovery ads now work with Google Ads Editor and Api and more… Google has a new tag, called Google Tag. Microsoft Advertising released a slew of features, including auto ad rollout, new ad formats, more bidding options, and more. Google’s secret algorithm may be exposed to Rumble due to a court ruling.
