Want to be a food blogger? This course by me may help… or not

I never thought I would say this, but I’m about to become an instructor. Yes, I’m going back to my alma mater to teach people how they can become one. Food blogger on social networks. Wichita State University has offered community education classes for some time. These courses are open to all members of the community and do not count towards college credit.

The courses are designed to make learning fun and cover topics that are of direct interest to you. They have courses that cover food and drink, business and technology, language learning, hobbies and hobbies, arts, health and wellness and more. Discover all the courses offered here.

One of these courses will be taught by yours truly and that may or may not help. After all, the last time I taught anyone anything was when I coached a seventh-grade basketball team. The team finished last in the league, so my run isn’t exactly star-studded.

But I will do my best and try to make the course as interactive, engaging and fun as possible.

The class, where you can register here, will take place on Mondays from September 12 to 26. Here is the description of the class:

Do you have a passion for food? Do you like to write or post on social media? What if you could combine these two things into one? Join local food blogger, Wichita by EB, for an up-close look at how you can use social media platforms to create your own food blog. This 3 week course will teach you the basics of food blogging, how to create an account, create engaging content and tips he’s learned in his 10+ years as a blogger. The last session will take place in a restaurant where you put everything you have learned into action. A final where you can eat and take pictures? It’s true! At the end of the course, you will have your own culinary blog. Remember to register quickly, the course is limited to 40 participants.

Basically two classes will be in the classroom where we’ll discuss food blogging, help you set up an account, go over the basics as well as tips and tricks and the finale will be we’ll all grab dinner somewhere and put this that we have learned in action.

After three weeks, you will have your own food blog on social media and at least one follower; me.

I’m not sure what to expect as this whole teaching stuff will be pretty new to me. Fun fact though; when I was in college, I always wanted to be a teacher. Here is my chance.

The registration fee for the course is $59 and covers all three Mondays. Everyone will be alone for dinner. I will look for a space that can accommodate the whole class. I am a firm believer the best meals are always in large groups.

Space is limited to 30-40 people I believe, so get in while you can. Hope to see you all there!
