Actor Evan Rachel Wood reflects about her relationship with Marilyn Manson in the two-part HBO documentary “Phoenix Rising,” a relationship she claims was abusive, which Manson denies. In the documentary, she also examines how she was seen in the media at the time of her relationship with Manson.
And this portrayal of her — who she characterizes as a perceived fall from A-list actor to undervalued woman — while dating the “Antichrist Superstar” singer, includes Perez Hilton’s commentary.
The documentary includes headlines about Wood and Manson’s relationship, including one from Hilton, who would call Wood “Evan Rachel Whore” in the 2000s. In the included headline, he said, “Evan Rachel Whore and Marilyn Manson: ‘We ‘ Again!” She had the word “HO” written above her head.
Wood met Manson, whose legal name is Brian Warner, when she was 18 and he was in his late 30s. In 2018, Wood, now 34, went public with Congress about sexual abuse allegations, but did not name Manson at the time. Three other women later accused Manson of abuse in ongoing civil lawsuits. Manson maintained that all of these relationships were consensual.
In recent years, Wood has become an activist, speaking out against domestic violence issues, but did not publicly accuse Manson until 2021. She testified in 2018 before a House Judiciary Subcommittee on her experiences as a survivor of rape and domestic violence in an effort to pass the Sexual Assault Victims Bill of Rights Act nationwide.
Manson vehemently denied all the allegations, which he called “horrible distortions of reality”.
“My intimate relationships have always been entirely consensual with like-minded partners. No matter how – and why – others now choose to twist the past, this is the truth,” said Manson.

Hilton is an entertainment blogger and commentator who rose to fame in the early years with his sneaky gossip blog, which is still active. His harsh treatment of celebrities, especially women, including Britney Spears and others, has recently been reviewed.
Recent documentaries about Spears and the conservatorship she now has broke free from criticized Hilton’s treatment of Britney on her blog. Hilton, whose legal name is Mario Lavandeira Jr., scrawled “I miss rehab” and “loser” on the pop star’s face in 2007 as she struggled, Newsweek reported Last year.
During 2021 interview with SkyNewsHilton says he takes “full responsibility” for the often mean-spirited blog posts.
“I didn’t lead with empathy and compassion,” he said. “I absolutely apologize and carry deep shame and regret.”
Britney’s guardianship has been dissolved in November after the ‘Overprotected’ star said she had no control over her finances, her daily life and even her decisions on whether or not to use birth control.
Perez has recently changed his tone and seems more empathetic towards women than he used to throw around on his blog.
“I believe her,” he recently told the New York Post regarding Wood’s allegations against Manson.
